Desktop depth, monitor size, outlet placement, cable management, legroom, support and cabinet dimensions all affect whether the finished workspace feels comfortable.

Final measurements should be taken after the supporting cabinetry, walls and relevant construction are ready.

Yes. Sondos Stone fabricates custom stone desktop surfaces based on confirmed cabinetry, dimensions, support, exposed edges, cable openings and project conditions.

Can stone be used for a floating desk? +

It may be possible when the support system, wall framing, span, material thickness and complete installation are properly planned.

What material is best for a home office desktop? +

Quartz is popular for controlled design and low routine maintenance. Granite offers natural variation and may be available as a remnant. Quartzite works well for premium statement offices.

Can you add cable holes to a stone desktop? +

Yes. Planned grommet holes or equipment openings may be fabricated when their locations and dimensions are confirmed before cutting.

Can a countertop remnant be used for a desk? +

Yes, when the available piece has enough usable length, depth and area for the complete desktop, finished edges and required openings.

Does the cabinetry need to be installed before measuring? +

Final measurement usually requires the supporting cabinetry, walls, cleats or structural system to be installed and ready for the approved surface.

Can you make an L-shaped office countertop? +
