The fabricator is responsible for interpreting the confirmed measurements, planning the pieces, creating cutouts, producing the selected edge and preparing the material for installation.
Good fabrication is not simply cutting a rectangle. Cabinets, walls, corners, sinks, appliances, overhangs, seams, slab movement, access and structural support can all change how the project should be produced.

Every countertop project combines a surface with dozens of physical decisions. The final result depends on how those decisions are measured, communicated and produced.

Project intake
Approximate measurements, cabinet plans, room photographs, material preferences, sink details, appliance information and the project address establish the starting scope.
Final template
Once the cabinets and relevant project conditions are ready, the actual layout is measured. Walls, corners, cutouts, overhangs, cabinets and appliance conditions are confirmed.
Slab and piece planning
The project pieces are planned around available material, usable slab area, pattern direction, natural movement, cutouts, seams and access limitations.
Cutting and shaping
The countertop pieces, sink openings, cooktop openings, corners, radiuses and other approved details are produced from the confirmed layout.
Edge and finish work
Exposed edges, cutout edges and visible surfaces are finished according to the selected material, edge profile and project requirements.
Delivery and installation
The finished pieces are transported to the project, positioned, fitted, joined at planned seams and reviewed as part of the final countertop installation.

A natural slab is not a repeating wallpaper pattern.
Granite, quartzite and marble can contain veins, mineral deposits, directional movement, tonal changes and natural characteristics that continue across the slab.
Approve the actual slab
A sample or online image cannot represent the complete slab. The available material should be reviewed whenever possible.
Plan focal areas first
Islands, long sink runs and full-height backsplashes may deserve priority when deciding where the strongest movement appears.
Understand seam transitions
Two pieces cut from a naturally moving slab may not create a perfectly invisible or continuous pattern at every seam.
