The exact color and slab
Materials are not priced as one flat category. Two quartz colors from the same manufacturer or two different quartzite slabs can have very different costs because of availability, origin, size and design.
How many slabs the layout requires
Stone is purchased and planned by the slab. A layout that barely exceeds one slab can require a second slab even when only a small amount of extra square footage is needed. Vein direction and seam placement also affect how the slab can be used.
Your edge profile
Eased and round-over edges are included in the starting price. More detailed profiles require extra fabrication. Current upgrade pricing begins at $16 per linear foot for a 1/4-inch bevel and increases for profiles such as bullnose, ogee and mitered edges.
Sinks, cooktops and other cutouts
Every opening must be measured, programmed, cut and finished accurately. Farmhouse sinks, multiple sinks, cooktops, grommet holes and outlet openings can add fabrication work beyond a basic layout.
Backsplash, waterfalls and specialty details
A 4-inch backsplash, full-height slab backsplash, waterfall end or mitered build-up uses additional material and labor. These features should be included when comparing quotes—not added as an afterthought.
Demolition, access and site conditions
Removing existing countertops, carrying material through difficult access, correcting unsupported areas or working around unusual walls can affect the final scope. Plumbing and electrical work are separate from countertop fabrication and installation.

How many square feet are in an average kitchen?
Many kitchens fall around 40–60 square feet of countertop, but size alone is not enough for an accurate quote. Islands, overhangs, backsplashes, appliance openings and slab layout must also be reviewed.
Why can two 50-square-foot kitchens have different prices?
One kitchen may fit efficiently on one slab while another requires a second slab because of island size, seam placement or vein direction. Edge upgrades, cutouts, backsplashes, demolition and access can also change the total.
